Go Beyond. Create Tomorrow

Terve Lillehammer elab vaikselt juba Noorte Olümpiamängude (LINK) ootel.
Ida on tänu lasteaiale sattunud vaimustusse olümpiamaskotist.

Sjoggi vaimustuse sai Ida lasteaiast, kus hetkel on käsil usin olümpiamängude õppimine.

One can almost feel The Youth Olympic Games (LINK) in the air. I have never been too big of a sportsfan and I've not been that into venues like this, but something strange has happened to me (as you maybe have read).  I am looking forward to the OG, soon the opening ceremony tickets sale starts and I am hoping to buy the tickets. It would be so cool to see the opening ceremony ( I mean we can see the Lysgaardsbakken from our kitchen window a bit, but still it would be something totally different to get to experience this live).

Yesteday a 100-days-to-go-event was held 100m from our house and I felt like the Mother of the Year. Thanks to kindergarten Ida has become obsessed with Sjogg, the mascot, and of course I had no idea that he was dancing almost in front of our house yesterday. It would have been so easy to make a small child happy, but no, I didn't know, didn't see, didn't hear. I heard the noice from the street, but didn't think that it could be related to OG. Note to self: start thinking!

As said Ida has learned about Sjogg in the kindergarten where they at the moment are learning about the Olympic Games. They have seen the hoppbakken (ski jumping area), a real ski jumper, the whole October they have been rocking to the 1994 olympic song OL-floka, Kristin and Haakon (the previous mascots) are known to everyone in the kindergarten and of course the real Sjogg has visited the children.
I am so pleased how they teach children how important a healthy and sporty lifestyle is, how they teach them to love music and dance and in the meantime the children learn about cultural (sports) history. Now that all the children know how to dance to OL-floka, they will study the new song and dance. "Go beyond.Create Tomorrow." Quite catchy song.

Funny how totally out of the blue the Olympic Games are part of our everyday life. Could I have believed this in the end of this year? Life is full of surprises.
